摘要: From 1980 to 1985, 40 patients under the age of 14 with open physes were treated for midsubstance tears ACL at Methodist Sports Medicine Center. In this series, 16 conservatively re habilitation, bracing, and counseling on activity modifi cation. The remaining 24 underwent arthros copic examination either an extraarticular or intra articular reconstruction based growth potential.The average followup was 27 months con servative group 26 surgical group. conservative group, six ar throscopy meniscal tears, four medial two lat eral. Only seven returned sports, all experi encing recurrent episodes giving way, effusions, pain.In 12 6 lateral found arthroscopy. There 10 ex traarticular reconstructions intraarticular recon structions. All sports activity, 22 are still competing. ...
