摘要: Abstract Background Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of death, and its mortality increasing in Latin America. However, population-based data on cardiovascular risk factors are sparse these countries. Methods A total 7524 men women, aged 35 to 74years old, were recruited between February 2010 December 2011 from randomly selected samples 4 cities (Bariloche Marcos Paz, Argentina; Temuco, Chile; Pando-Barros Blancos, Uruguay) the Southern Cone measured using standard methods by trained certified observers. Conclusions highly prevalent general population These suggest that national efforts prevention, treatment, control should be public health priority
