摘要: Abstract Background Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of death, and its mortality increasing in Latin America. However, population-based data on cardiovascular risk factors are sparse these countries. Methods A total 7524 men women, aged 35 to 74years old, were recruited between February 2010 December 2011 from randomly selected samples 4 cities (Bariloche Marcos Paz, Argentina; Temuco, Chile; Pando-Barros Blancos, Uruguay) the Southern Cone measured using standard methods by trained certified observers. Results Approximately 85.5% adults ate less than five servings fruit or vegetables per day, 35.2% engaged low physical activity, 29.7% currently smoked cigarettes. The prevalences obesity, central hypertension, chronic kidney disease, dyslipidemia, diabetes, metabolic syndrome 35.7%, 52.9%, 40.8%, 2.0%, 58.4%, 12.4%, 37.4%, respectively. proportion individuals with ≥3 factors, including intake vegetables, current cigarette smoking, obesity was 68.3%, cardiometabolic 22.9%. Conclusions highly prevalent general population These suggest that national efforts prevention, treatment, control should be public health priority
