摘要: Abstract The mechanism by which diphtheria toxin inhibits amino acid transfer from aminoacyl-sRNA to ribosomes has been studied in the reticulocyte cell-free system. In presence of required cofactor NAD, found inactivate one supernatant factors 65 85%; complementary factor is not affected. Removal NAD gel filtration does reverse inactivation. Aminoacyl-sRNA and treated with plus are fully active after removal NAD. Toxin break down polysomes single release nascent polypeptide chains ribosomes.
