摘要: Human-elephant conflicts in most African countries coincide areas where poverty and natural resources are profound. Although popularly believed to be an asset capable of generating consumptive non-consumptive ecotourism revenue, elephants some parts Africa viewed as pests predators worth eradicating a result high human-elephant (crop raiding, property damage, human livestock predation). This has shifted the conservation debate issues how much biodiversity (elephants) can saved face suffering local communities. With that background, we tested income premise biological bee-fence concept complementary problem animal control (PAC) measure from rural setting interact with poor communities using bio-economic simulations. We conclude significant potential deter invading surrounding communities' fields well needed household income. These findings reinforce under typical up-scaling.
