摘要: Abstract Two new provitamins A, designated as β-zeacarotene and β1-zeacarotene, were separated from extracts of yellow corn grain gluten. A companion pigment, which lacked vitamin activity was α-zeacarotene, obtained the same extracts. From their physical properties behavior on reaction with iodine N-bromosuccinimide, it appears that is 7′,8′-dihydro-γ-carotene α-zeacarotene 7′,8′-dihydro-δ-carotene.
