摘要: Little is known about how genetic variation contributes to neuroanatomical variability, and whether particular genomic regions comprising genes or evolutionarily conserved elements are enriched for effects that influence brain morphology. Here, we examine imaging single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) data from ∼2,700 individuals. We show a substantial proportion of in cortical surface area explained by additive SNPs dispersed throughout the genome, with larger heritable effect visual auditory sensory insular cortices (h(2)∼0.45). Genome-wide collectively account for, on average, half twin heritability across (N=466 twins). find near genes. also observe more contributed significantly area, particularly, medial temporal regions. less occipital dorsolateral prefrontal cortices.
