摘要: This poster summarizes results of the IMLS funded University South Carolina META project that explored application meta-analysis techniques to develop a robust model public library economic value. Completed in 2014, approached this topic with two fundamental questions: (1) whether reviewed valuation studies provide mounting evidence concerning contributions libraries make prosperity communities they serve, and (2) what steps need be taken order strengthen assertion? The analyses performed answer these questions suggest Americans typically receive five six dollars for every dollar spend on services. also lead recommendations strategies could add strength assertion powerful new argument continuance services: more detailed reporting practices, greater methodological consistency, systematic consideration intangible benefits.
