摘要: Ionic liquids (ILs) are versatile solvents for a broad range of biotechnological applications. Recent experimental and simulation results highlight the potential benefits dilute ILs in aqueous solution (aqueous ILs) order to modify protein DNA structures systematically. In contrast limited number standard co-solutes like urea, ectoine, trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), or guanidinium chloride, large amount possible cation anion combinations can be used develop tailor-made stabilizers destabilizers specific purposes. this review article, we common principles differences between with focus on their underlying macromolecular stabilization destabilization behavior. combination statistical thermodynamics theories, present an efficient framework, which is classify structure modification effects consistently. The crucial importance enthalpic entropic contributions free energy change upon IL-assisted unfolding complex mechanism described detail. A special also set IL-DNA interactions, outcomes summarized discussed context previous findings.
