摘要: Hypoglycemia is increasingly recognized as a complication of bariatric surgery. Although medications are often required, medical nutrition therapy remains the key cornerstone for successful prevention hypoglycemia in patients with post-bariatric (PBH). We provide suggested approaches to dietary management PBH, incorporating data from both literature and extensive clinical experience an academic referral center PBH. The overall goal PBH reduce postprandial surges glucose, which trigger insulin secretion promote subsequent hypoglycemia. Thus, strategies focus on controlled portions low glycemic index carbohydrates, avoidance rapidly-absorbed adjustment timing meals snacks, attention personal cultural barriers implementation.
