The magnetic transition in Fe-substituted hexagonal β-Al9SiMn3

摘要: Recently we have studies β-Al9Si(Mn1−xFex)3 using Mossbauer effect spectroscopy withx=0.28 and discovered a new transition at about 80 K. Neutron diffraction down to low temperatures reveal no structural changes, so that this K is indeed of magnetic origin. The susceptibility shows small maximum near temperature superimposed on large Curie-like background. In addition transition, the background cusp 4 We thus infer double in disordered alloy. These transitions been followed lower Fe concentrations (x=0.10 0.20) by both (Tc) (Tg). It found thatTC decreases rapidly with decreasing concentration, whileTg remains relatively constant. saturation hyperfine fieldBhf(0) decreasingx, indicating atoms loose their moments limit infinite dilution, important role played Fe−Fe nearest neighbors determining properties.
