摘要: The reactivities towards DNA and protein of a benzimidazole derived mononuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu(EDTB)](NO3)2·C2H5OH (1) [EDTB = N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis(2′-benzimidazolyl methyl)-1,2-ethanediamine], were investigated under physiological conditions using UV/Vis absorption, fluorescence, circular dichroism (CD). experimental results suggest complex 1 could strongly bind to calf thymus (CT-DNA) induce remarkable conformational variation DNA. intrinsic binding constant Kb is 1.08(± 0.02) × 105 M–1 the apparent Kapp 3.9 × 106 M–1. strong affinity was chiefly arising from intercalation aromatic rings ligand system with base stack. Additionally, also interact bovine serum albumin (BSA) quench fluorescence BSA. At higher concentration range (0–210 μM), quenching BSA by combined (both dynamic static) process; at lower (0–15 process single static mechanism (KA) ca. 105 Further, cytotoxic activity in vitro evaluated against human cervical cancer (HeLa), lung (A-549), mammary (MCF-7) cell lines. reveal demonstrates significant inhibition three lines IC50 values falling 36.12–55.13 μM range.
