摘要: Oesophagitis severity is related to total oesophageal acid exposure, which in turn dependent upon both the number reflux events and rate of refluxate clearance. This study examined differences frequency characteris- tics exposure asymptomatic controls gastro-oesophageal disease (GORD) patients with without oesophagitis. Nine 38 GORD were studied. All underwent upper endoscopy, videofluoroscopy, determination resting lower sphincter pressure (LOSP) 24 h pH monitoring. Analysis was performed subjects grouped as controls, non-erosive oesopha- gitis. A second analysis by hiatal hernia size. Statistical comparisons made using ANOVA unpaired t-tests. Patients oesophagitis had significantly larger her- nias, greater more pro- longed episodes longer clearance times than did GORD. No significant difference seen events. Increasing size associated increasing geal prolonged times. have Increased attributable impaired greatest impairments occur large hernias.
