摘要: Scleral lenses can affect a range of anterior segment structures including the eyelids and tears. The eyelids, consisting outer skin layer, middle tarsal plate, posterior palpebral conjunctiva, provide physical protection house meibomian glands cilia which have important unique functions. Tears consist mix aqueous, mucus, lipidomic components that serve vital functions lubricity, protection, nourishment to ocular surface. Both tear film interact directly with scleral on eye but also be impacted by lens wear. purpose this paper is review anatomy physiology film, discuss effects impacts these structures, identify areas require further research.
