This article provides an update to NCASH conference on injuries agriculture, a history how facts figures were arrived at conference, current report status U.S. Fatal nonfatal are along with national regional surveillance systems. Fatality rates, which showed some decline 1980s, fairly constant during 1990s. Changes rates this sector could not be assessed due lack benchmark data. main concerns identified 1989 continue today: tractors leading cause farm-related mostly overturns; older farmers highest risk farm fatalities; major concern youth living or working farms. associated public health problem that needs through comprehensive approaches include further delineation problem, particularly children adults, identification factors analytic efforts.
