摘要: New biomarkers of cardiovascular disease are needed to augment the information obtained from traditional indicators and illuminate mechanisms. One approaches used in metabolomics/metabonomics for that purpose is metabolic fingerprinting aiming profile large numbers chemically diverse metabolites an essentially nonselective way. In this study, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was employed evaluate major changes low molecular weight plasma patients with acute coronary syndrome (n = 9) stable atherosclerosis 10) vs healthy subjects without significant differences age sex 10). Reproducible between cases controls were pattern recognition techniques, accounting higher classification have been identified through their mass spectra. On basis, it seems inherently plausible even a simple metabolite might be able offer improved clinical diagnosis prognosis, but addition, specific markers being identified.
