摘要: The protein RAP1 is essential for the maintenance of telomeres Saccharomyces cerevisiae and binds in vitro to multiple sites found within TG1-3 telomeric repeats. We show here that, addition its known binding activity double-stranded DNA, sequence-specifically GT-strands. This indicates that terminal GT-tails. Furthermore, we have promotes formation G-tetrads, i.e. DNA quadruplexes, GT-strand oligonucleotides at nanomolar concentrations. quadruplexes appears involve intermolecular association minimal DNA-binding domain (DBD) only so novel involves regions located outside DBD. finding a G-tetrads argues use telomere association.
