摘要: Landslides triggered by moderate to major earthquakes are a recognized seismic hazard. Arias Intensity (I a) is key intensity measure of the ground motion, but significant duration widely used define strong motion duration. We calculate Newmark’s displacements using earthquake records bracketing broad range and employing rigid block method number yield accelerations. Total landslide displacement increases with increase in energy content above threshold. Such threshold may be expressed as function acceleration slope regardless characteristics. Newmark decreases increasing for similar content. The wide scatter results converges when formal dimensional analysis. Self-similar symmetry facilitate assessment performance slopes during earthquakes. mathematical framework probabilistic determination landslides useful aid estimate likelihood hazards provided that geotechnical properties known.
