摘要: Abstract Calcined waste shell aggregate (CCa) is a promising non-chlorine sanitizers and 0.01% CCa was found to be effective in eliminating pathogens various fresh produces. This study designed evaluate the efficacy of including 0.5% (H2O2), CCa, and/or (CA), enhancing safety quality betel leaf. The presence Salmonella spp. observed commercial leaf samples. Washing samples with distilled water able eliminate soil debris, however, unable microorganisms satisfactorily. In contrast, washing sample CA pathogenic bacteria initially, after enrichment pathogen populations were detected When artificially contaminated [higher (>7.0 log CFU/ml) lower (>4.0 inoculums] washed H2O2, solutions, complete elimination inoculated noticed initially most cases, but enrichment, mostly higher inoculums study. finding demonstrated that could useful improving leaf, use preferable because its low cost, availability, biodegradable non-hazardous characteristics compared other used. Hence, positive alternatives chlorine sanitizers.
