摘要: The afferent limb of a rapid response system is responsible for monitoring the patient, detecting deterioration and triggering clinical response. This chapter describes observations, early warning systems calling criteria used to identify sick or deteriorating patient. Failures in individual components are common frequently result potentially avoidable, adverse outcomes. We describe current shortfalls consider actions required improve its functioning including: improving regular patient assessment; ensuring accurate measurement recording vital signs; enabling timely team. also considers role technology limb.
