摘要: The ecology of Amblyomma tonelliae (Ixodida: Ixodidae), including its seasonal distribution and the development periods each stage, was investigated during a study carried out over two consecutive years in northwestern Argentina. In addition, genetic variation this tick studied through analyses 16S rDNA sequences. has 1-year lifecycle characterized by long pre-moult period larvae with no morphogenetic diapause. Larvae peak abundance late autumn early winter; nymphs spring, adults do so from spring to summer. shows marked ecological preference for driest areas Chaco ecoregion. sequences genes different populations A. tonelliae, values nucleotide diversity average number differences showed within species be low. No significant were found comparisons among populations.
