摘要: Techniques for disrupting gene expression are invaluable tools the analysis of biological role(s) a product. Because its genetic tractability and multiple advantages over conventional mammalian models, zebrafish (Danio rerio) is recognized as powerful system gaining new insight into diverse aspects human health disease. Among families which has shown promise an model functional studies, galectins have attracted great interest due to their participation in early development, regulation immune homeostasis, recognition microbial pathogens. Galectins β-galactosyl-binding lectins with characteristic sequence motif carbohydrate domains (CRDs), comprise evolutionary conserved family ubiquitous eukaryotic taxa. emerging key players modulation many important pathological processes, include acute chronic inflammatory diseases, autoimmunity cancer, thus making them potential molecular targets innovative drug discovery. Here, we provide review current methods available manipulation zebrafish, focus on knockdown [morpholino (MO)-derived antisense oligonucleotides] knockout (CRISPR-Cas) technologies.
