摘要: This special issue represents an attempt to answer fundamental brain and behaviour issues in attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The European network on hyperkinetic disorders (Eunethydis) is trying develop a novel, testable theory of ADHD, giving account its causes, development from dysfunctions behavioural symptoms co-morbidity explaining why no current therapy produces long-lasting improvements. combined insights the articles presented here suggest that there damage but hypo-efficient dopamine systems which give rise neurochemical imbalances. These cause problems: deficits sustained attention, overactivity impulsiveness. Impulsiveness increasingly being seen as key characteristic disorder.
