摘要: Cyanobacteria, contrary to higher plants, have a small psbA gene family encoding the reaction centre D1 protein subunit of photosystem II, first macromolecular pigment-protein complex photosynthetic electron transport chain. Modulation expression multiple genes in allows cyanobacteria adapt changing environmental conditions. To date, two different strategies for regulation emerged. One, characterized Synechocystis PCC6803 and Gloeobacter violaceus PCC7421 involves increased one type cope with rate damage. The other strategy, Synechococcus PCC7942 Anabaena PCC7120, is replace existing new form duration stress. However, most families date contain also divergent, apparently silent unknown function. This gene, present Synechocystis, Thermosynechococcus elongatus BP-1 was not induced by any stress condition applied so far. Our data shows reversible induction divergent during onset argon-induced microaerobic conditions elongatus. unitary functional response three unrelated cyanobacterial species, namely as same cue, indicates that these they encode are part specific cellular There no primary structure similarities between inducible forms, designated D1'. Only amino acid residues consistently conserved These modifications are: G80 A, F158 L T286 L. In silico mutation published from did reveal major modifications. point effects mutations on local environment PSII discussed.
