摘要: This chapter analyzes various approaches to overcoming true clinical inertia, that which cannot be justified. (1) Education of physicians, during their initial training and through Continuous Medical Education. (2) Facilitators: use protocols, electronic medical records, disease management, establishment a Coordinated Health Care Plan, telemedicine. (3) Strengthening the physician’s motivation incentives by health authorities (pay for performance), peers other healthcare professionals (pharmacists, nurses), patients. The own self-incentive, in form precommitment, is analyzed detail calling upon concepts developed within framework philosophy mind, with special focus on importance habit. (4) We insist physician knowing risks presented heuristics. (5) Finally, concerning management emotions, we propose concept emotional reversal, positive emotions such as pride. best rampart against inertia may well concern future safety patient, an emotion can understood philosophic meaning care.
