摘要: In the United States, regulations are in place to ensure quality of drinking water. Such precautions intended safeguard health population. However, regulatory guidelines may at times fail achieve their purpose. This be due lack sufficient data regarding hazards chronic low dose exposure contaminants or introduction new substances that pose a hazard risk has yet identified. this review, examples different sources water will discussed, followed by an evaluation some select individual toxicants with known adverse neurological impact. The ability mixtures potentially cause additive, synergistic, antagonistic neurotoxic responses briefly addressed. last section review provide mechanisms which classes lead impairments. main objective is bring light importance considering trace amounts chemicals and potential brain abnormalities. There continued need for toxicology studies better understand negative consequences toxins although it beyond scope brief overview hoped underscore paucity focused on determining how long-term minute levels significant hazard.
