摘要: The effect of sample orientation on the mechanical properties commercially pure (CP) titanium plate with a transverse split basal texture was investigated at room temperature (RT) using plane strain compression (PSC). A large variation in flow stress up to ∼60 pct found for samples different orientations. major sources this were revealed by measuring area fractions individual twin modes electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and calculating Schmid factors all important slip twinning modes. Importantly, calculated orientations Euler space because there are significant variations over PSC state, unlike uniaxial or tension. factor analysis data wide variety tested enabled conclusion be drawn reliably that higher stresses primarily due an unfavourable prism- $$ {\left\langle \right\rangle } $$ slip. greater proportion {\left\{ {11\ifmmode\expandafter\bar\else\expandafter\=\fi{2}2} \right\}} {10\ifmmode\expandafter\bar\else\expandafter\=\fi{1}2} also stresses. Increased hardening observed showed dramatic change more difficult further deformation as result dominant twinning. This indicated reorientation responsible mechanism.
