摘要: Citizen-collected arthropod vectors are useful for epidemiological studies of vector–borne disease, especially since the encountered by public subset in nature that have a disproportionate impact on health. Programs integrating educational efforts with collecting may be particularly effective health initiatives, resulting an empowered knowledge disease prevention. Citizen science programs been successfully implemented collection unprecedented sample sets mosquitos, ticks, and triatomines. Cyber infrastructure employed digital epidemiology — including websites, email, mobile phone apps, social media platforms — has facilitated vector citizen initiatives to assess risk over vast spatial temporal scales, advancing research mitigate risk.
