Personalized information spaces: improved access to chemical digital libraries.

摘要: Today digital libraries provide access to a vast, but largely unstructured, amount of document collections. Facing the ever increasing challenge information overload content providers have focus on new ways in user-centered retrieval, not only providing tools for searching information, personalizing, managing, evaluating and working with returned search results. Within ViFaChem II research project TIB L3S Research Center, Hannover, developed an enhanced retrieval platform chemical libraries. The prototypical interface processes full text bibliographic metadata collections create semantically enriched metadata. Processing steps include mining entities, reaction types structure reconstruction. However, library does offer classical via or search, also semantic based faceted browsing paradigm. In particular it includes Semantic GrowBag algorithm, which automatically creates facets navigational query refinement using relationship between documents author keywords. Based higher-order co-occurrences keywords these graphs hierarchically arrange all related topics dynamically respect underlying collection. Having different personal views collection user now can navigate through results individual strategies. Facets reactions, entities combined ontology thus allow driven documents. Combined Web 2.0 features provides experience large collections, where his personalized knowledge space.
