摘要: Studies on the recycling of eukaryotic initiation factor 2 (eIF-2) during protein synthesis in normal and heme-deficient reticulocyte lysates indicate that eIF-2 binds physiologically to 60 S ribosomal subunit. Several findings suggest subunit serves as a carrier for synthesis. The addition purified (beta-32P) hemin-supplemented results its binding polyribosomal subunits; is temperature-dependent. In inhibited by heme deficiency, phosphorylated alpha can be detected subunits early initial linear phase synthesis; after disaggregation shut-off synthesis, accumulates free ribosome 80 couples. associated with appears present binary complex [eIF-2 (alpha P) X GDP]; this tight not affected treatment 25 mM EDTA or sedimentation sucrose gradients.
