摘要: The Sierra Santa Rosa is part of a regional network "sky island" mountain ranges in north- ern Coahuila. From 2004 to 2006, we made three visits site the located at 880 m elevation on eastern slope low-lying parallel range. We report diverse avifauna uncharacteristic for region, including new breeding record Yellow-green Vireo (Vireo flavoviridis) Coahuila and major range extensions Least Grebe (Tachybaptus dominicus), Tropical Parula (Parula pitiayumi), Rufous-capped Warbler (Basileuterus rufifrons), Flame-colored Tanager (Piranga bidentata), Olive Sparrow (Arremonops rufivirgatus). This extends many elements tropical, Madre, Gulf Coast bird communities hundreds kilometers north east. These results emphasize need more surveys remote sky islands northern Accepted 18 March 2007.
