Numerical investigation of supersonic flow for axisymmetric cones

摘要: An existing curvilinear finite-volume code with robust shock-capturing scheme was modified to allow for simulations of supersonic flow axisymmetric cone geometries. It is shown how an coordinate system the convective and viscous flux derivatives in circumferential direction reduce a y-momentum equation source term. The advantage this approach over that governing equations discretization do not need be changed. This paper provides detailed derivation terms from full Navier-Stokes equations. Results are sharp blunt Mach numbers M=3.5 M=7.99.
