摘要: The negative effects of the ongoing climate change include unusual prolonged droughts and increased salinity pressures on agricultural lands. Consequently, crops are facing unprecedented environmental pressure, this calls for more research towards controlling such major stresses. current study investigates seaweed extract sprays Ascophyllum nodosum (5 7 mL.L-1; 6-day intervals) Paspalum vaginatum Salam՚ during irrigation intervals (2 6 day) saline growing conditions (1 dS.m-1 49.7 dS.m-1) weeks in containers under greenhouse conditions. Control plants showed reduced turf quality, photochemical efficiency, root length dry weight, total nonstructural carbohydrates K Ca compositions. Seaweed extracts leaf non-structural carbohydrates, K, proline treated as well shock There were also increases antioxidant defensive mechanisms superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) ascorbate peroxidase (APX) activities non-enzymatic antioxidants lipid peroxidation. application SWE at mL.L-1 higher performance Our findings imply that several including drought tolerance, osmotic adjustment defense system may interact to enhance face stress following treatments.
