摘要: The field of transoceanic transmission systems is experiencing an unprecedented growth, at accelerated rate. To answer to this market demand, new link configurations with increased performance must be designed, and one needs research tools evaluate test these designs. At level, three main complementary are available: (a) analytical basic numerical for a deep understanding propagation effects, as well rough rapid evaluation the different parameters; (b) tools, including details link, finer design definition; (c) experimental in particular those based on recirculating loops, validation configurations. After briefly introducing concept optical soliton dispersion-managed systems, combined exploitation described. As case study, we consider wavelength-division-multiplexing 8 channels 10Gbit/s over distance. Detailed results compared discussed.
