摘要: A sample of 524 young drug addicts consecutively treated at a special hospital ward has been followed by registers for an average 10 years. total 62 were found to have died drug-related deaths age 28 years; 19 them had committed suicide. Representativeness the is investigated. Sex and choice drugs predictive factors behind fatal outcome: male opiate 5.4 times amphetamine abusers 2.5 as often expected. The males exposed greater risk than females. Those who suicide hereditary disposition mental disturbances, especially affective disorders. Lethal substances proved be opiates, barbiturates alcohol and/or other psychotropic preparations. Signs heart disease in overdose cases.
