The influences of the electrode dimension and the dielectric material on the breakdown characteristics of coplanar dielectric barrier discharge in ambient air

摘要: The influences of the angle V-shaped electrode, interelectrode distance, thickness and types dielectric plate on breakdown characteristics air coplanar barrier discharge are investigated. When electrode increases, ignition voltage surprisingly decreases, while both current, plasma area remain constant. With smaller distance or thinner plate, lower is required. However, if either one them exceeds threshold value, mode transits from steady to stochastic. In addition, appearance in case alumina visually more diffuse with respect cases mica quartz, which may be caused by surface charges high density.
