摘要: Since the introduction of a primitive tsunami intensity scale by Sieberg (1927) several further attempts were made to quantify tsunamis, like those Imamura (1942), Iida (1956), and Ambraseys (1962). However, proposed scales suffered either from lack detailed description grades or confusion between real magnitude scales, problem discussed Soloviev (1970) Murty Loomis (1980) examined in more detail Shuto (1993). The detailed, creates serious problems standardization descriptions effects their comparison site case case. Following long seismological tradition we propose establishment new, 12-grade based on following principles: (a) independence physical parameters wave amplitude (or height) source coast; (b) sensitivity, that is, incorporation an adequate number describe even small differences effects; (c) each grade considering all possible impacts human natural environment vulnerability structures.
