摘要: Spermophilus citellus (Linnaeus, 1766) is a medium-sized sciurid commonly called the European ground squirrel. The species inhabits grasslands in central and southeastern Europe on range from short-grass steppes to meadow orchards, sea level an elevation of 2,500 m. These squirrels live colonies construct burrows used for hibernation, reproduction, refuge, resting. Due serious declines many portions its range, listed as “Vulnerable” by International Union Conservation Nature Natural Resources. It also protected Bern Convention (Appendix II), Habitats Species Directive (Annexes II IV).
