摘要: The constant pressure filtration characteristics of cellulose fibres, titanium dioxide (rutile) and mixtures the two were studied using a well controlled apparatus. To interpret the filtration results, relevant fibre and particle physical properties determined the sedimentation behaviour binary suspensions quantified. porosities (eav) filter cakes formed from pure rutile approximately 0.75 0.6 respectively. The general concept additive porosity for mixtures agreed reasonably with the experimental data. With filtrations at 450 kPa, average specific cake resistances (αav) pure fibre in deionised water 9.4x1013 4.2x1012 m kg-1 respectively, with variation αav fraction showing minimum. Similar trends observed at filtration pressures 150 600 kPa. No minimum was kPa filtrations of made 0.1 M CaCl2 solution. It is concluded that influences solids composition solution environment on are substantial fibre/particle whilst the influence less evident.
