摘要: AbstractWhen using household-level data to examine consumer demand it is commonto nd that consumers purchase only a subset of the available goods, setting thedemand for remaining goods zero. Ignoring such censoring dependentvariables can lead estimators with poor statistical properties and estimates thatlead policy decisions. In this paper we investigate household forfour types breakfast cereals, as whole grain ready-to-eat, non-whole grainready-to-eat, hot censored Al-most Ideal Demand System (AIDS) estimate parameters model viaBayesian methods. Using level scanner (ACNielsen Homescan) all cereals inelastic changes in prices. The expenditure elasticity slightly above unity ready-to-eatcereals suggesting on increases households will al-locate proportionally more whole-grain ready-to-eat less othercereals. Keywords: AIDS model, Bayesian econometrics, censored, grains.JEL Classi cation: C11; C34; D12.
