摘要: The relation between anesthetic gas exposure and spontaneous abortion remains unresolved. We examined the effect of nitrous oxide on among female dental assistants. Questionnaires were sent to 7,000 assistants aged 18-39 years who registered in California 1987; 4,856 (69%) responded. Analysis was based 1,465 respondents whose most recent pregnancy conceived while working full time. Women asked how many hours a week they worked with during this whether excess scavenged (vented). Relative risk (through 20) calculated using person-week model. This allowed women current pregnancies (13%) or induced abortions (10%) be included for appropriate time periods risk. A total 101 (7%) ended as abortions. An elevation seen 3 more per offices not scavenging equipment (relative = 2.6, 95% confidence interval 1.3-5.0, adjusted age, smoking, number amalgams prepared week), but those equipment. changed little when analyses restricted confirmed several types potential bias. Scavenging appears important protecting reproductive health oxide.
