摘要: The nature of the interaction between iron oxyhydroxide compounds and natural organic matter (NOM) may take various forms is still a debate. It an important field to understand, especially for water treatment applications knowledge transport in environment. association reached oligomeric species NOM here investigated using Mossbauer spectroscopy electron energy-loss (EELS) at Fe-L3 edge. Raw taken from Moselle River (France), humic substances extracted riverine suspended matter, synthesized humic-like substance, are coagulated with nitrate according jar-test procedure. results indicate that Fe present octahedral coordination environment, which consistent prior X-ray absorption reported literature. areas beneath peaks (Fe L3 edge) peak shapes EELS spectra differ origin suggesting types populations can be distinguished technique. Combining selectivity both identifying trace, poorly crystalline solids, oxidation state being able characterize population based on L-edge spectra, appears promising characterizing systems containing NOM.
