摘要: Disturbance is a key factor shaping species abundance and diversity in plant communities. Here, we use mechanistic model of vegetation to show that different strengths r- K-selection result disturbance-diversity relationships. R- constrain the range viable through colonization-competition tradeoff, with strong r-selection favoring colonizers competitors, but level disturbance also affects success species. This interplay among results shapes relationships, little variation no K-selection, decrease rate, an increase peak at intermediate values K-selection. We conclude relationships found observations may reflect intensities within communities, which should be inferable from broader community composition their ecophysiological trait ranges.
