摘要: Abstract A high-resolution carbon isotope record is presented for Campanian strata of the Bottaccione section (Umbria-Marche Basin), through an interval that constitutes standard reference geomagnetic polarity time scale. The identification prominent δ13C excursions and high frequency variations allows establishment robust stratigraphic markers to link this new Tethyan with Boreal realm (Lagerdorf-Kronsmoor section, Northwest Germany Trunch borehole, Norfolk, UK). decoupling baseline values between observed during mid-Campanian, reflecting a plausible change in intermediate/deep-water mass exchange due more restricted gateway; hypothesized be consequence northward movements Africa associated opening South Atlantic Ocean. Statistical evaluation segment dataset TimeOpt method astrochronologic testing provides strong evidence astronomical forcing, underscores potential development complete astronomically tuned Stage at Bottaccione, allowing calibration key paleobiologic datums.
