摘要: Introduction: populations of schizophrenics, homosexuals, jail inmates, and sex workers are exposed to risk factors that affect their morbidity mortality. Objective: review the indexed literature available on PubMed, in order try quantify increase tobacco consumption among these groups. Materials methods: a sensitive search strategy was designed for each group interest. Titles abstracts were reviewed independently by two team members, exclude irrelevant ones. After obtaining full texts, information from study tabulated. Results: 1894 references, 1365 excluded at first screening, 91 could not be obtained, 206 studies, 31 countries, supplied (101 about schizophrenia, 68 homosexual population, 6 workers). The odds ratios (CI 95%) with regard control were: schizophrenics 3,34 (2,95 - 3,78); population 2,03 (1,84 – 2,26); male prison inmates 6,60 (5,15 8,46), female 9,72 (5,95 15,90), 26,3 (6,7 103,2). Discussion: Tobacco is consistently high stigmatized Together other unhealthy lifestyles, it explains why health risks greater. It necessary design group-specific intervention strategies.
