摘要: OBJECTIVE: Scorpion envenomation is common in and around Batman. The aim of this study to describe the circumstances clinical effects stings south east Turkey scorpions. MATERIAL AND METHODS: One hundred twenty patients with scorpion sting were collected prospectively from presentations emergency departments Batman State Hospital March 2007 October 2007. following information recorded: demographics, sting, site, local system ic effects, vital signs, past medical history, presence shock RESULTS: 120 (75 females 45 males), a mean age 33.6 ±15.1 (range 16-80) included study. majority (36.7%) occurred between 0600 1200. Of stings, 61.7% indoors. cases, 41.6% stung while they working. most region (27.5%) by scorpions was hand-fingers. symptom cases immediate localized pain (97.5%), severe 70 (58.3%). Other red mark/redness (65%), tenderness (40%), numbness (51.7%) edema (25.8%). Sweating minor systemic that 16.7% cases. Cardiac dysfunction, myocardial damage deaths secondary major envenoming not determined any patient. CONCLUSION: do appear cause or life-threatening effects. Most indoors at midday. Hand-fingers body section stung. Females mostly
