An estimate of limited duration cancer prevalence in New Zealand using 'big' data.

摘要: AIMS: Increases in cancer survival may increase prevalence and demand for healthcare. We aimed to estimate the New Zealand population. METHODS: used national linked health, social census datasets from Stats NZ Integrated Data Infrastructure identify number of residents who had at least one diagnosis Zealand. included all primary cancers recorded on Cancer Registry January 1995 June 2013, 2013 demographic socioeconomic data. RESULTS: On 30 140,600 4,438,900 (3.2%) been diagnosed with last 18.5 years. In ≥15 year olds, age-standardised 0 ≤1 year, >1 ≤5 years, prior was 0.4% 1.1% men 0.3% 0.9% women, respectively. Over 18.5-year period greatest oldest ages, European/Other, highest qualified, income, deprived, ex-smokers, Canterbury, Bay Plenty Nelson/Marlborough District Health Boards (age-standardised). CONCLUSIONS: Groups access healthcare prevalences.
