摘要: Abstract This work reports the preparation and characterization of copolymer poly-{styrene-acrylic acid} with monomeric ratio styrene/acrylic acid 9:1 using benzoyl peroxide as initiator furthermore filled nanosilver (25 ppm 50 ppm) in water/acetone (1:40 v/v). The emulsion was obtained from chemical reduction NaBH 4 reducing agent sodium citrate stabilizer. monitored by appearance a Plasmon Resonant Absorption band UV–visible spectrophotometer particles sizes were observed through TEM. Microbiological studies performed to investigate antimicrobial activity this new material against microorganisms Escherichia coli (ATCC-25922) Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC-6538), used reference strains. confirmed presence an inhibition halo bacterial growth seeded culture media, but not found poly(styrene-acrylic acid) alone. present suggests that silver ions are released polymeric matrix media have ability tune Ag + controlling amount nanoparticles embedded composite.
