摘要: Abstract Sequestration of anthropogenic “greenhouse gases” such as CO 2 is proposed a means reducing global warming. We tested the possibility sequestering in regional-scale aquifers sedimentary basins, including residence time possible aquifer storage sites and migration rates away from sites. The example basin studied Powder River Basin, Wyoming. calibrated regional scale rock properties Basin using surface heat flow observations. determined advection by groundwater system can explain anomalously high not explained conduction alone. Our study suggests that are viable candidates for sequestration time-scales 10 3 years.
