摘要: Utility that modern smartphone technology provides to individuals is most often enabled by technical capabilities are privacy-affecting nature, i.e. apps provided with access a multiplicity of sensitive resources required implement context-sensitivity or personalization. Due the ineffectiveness current privacy risk communication methods applied in ecosystems, individuals’ assessments biased and accompanied uncertainty regarding potential privacy-related consequences long-term app usage. Warning theory suggests an explicit can reduce enable make better-informed cost-benefit trade-off decisions. We extend this design field information warning experimentally investigating effects explicitness warnings on perceived trustworthiness apps. Our results suggest leads more accurate trust perceptions improved foundation for informed decision-making.
