摘要: Most studies of the reproductive period shrimps are based on percentage mature females (PMF). The objective this work was to determine penaeid shrimp by applying an egg production index (EPI), combining fecundity, size structure, and density females. We also intended make a comparison with PMF method. months maximum maturity obtained did not match those actual period. This is because does take into account abundance, but rather proportion It concluded that, in order define shrimp, we need at least three indices (fecundity, females) as proposed here, comprised EPI.
